Sample summarizing/citing in-text:

Email is often used and abused in communication from students to professors (Glater 2006).

According to Glater (2006), college students agree email "makes it easier to ask questions and helps them to learn" (p. A4).

Some professors indicate they receive inappropriate emails from students in language, tone or subject matter (Glater 2006).

Georgetown University Assistant Dean Kessler, as cited in Glater (2006), says students' emails take an "astounding" tone (p. A1).

APA citation (newspaper format):

Glater, J. D. (2006, February 21). To: professor@university.edu subject: why it's all about me. New York Times, pp. A1, A4.
