Political Science 100: U.S. Government and Politics
The resources below will help you with your News Watch assignment.
Choosing a Topic
For this particular assignment, it's easiest not to choose a topic, but let the topic choose you. Here are some suggestions on how to get started with this assignment:
- Assign each person in your group a resource. For example, one person is responsible for CNN.com, another person is responsible for nytimes.com, etc. You are then responsible for following the headlines on your particular site.
- As you get closer to your presentation date, your group should start discussing the kinds of headlines you have seen recently on your news site.
- Choose one of the news stories to present on.
- Find your 5 required sources. To find more about your news story, use Lexis Nexis for the best results.
