GOAL I: Student understands the importance of the
organizational content, bibliographic structure, function, and use of information sources.
Competencies Learned:
- Student can evaluate media and other non-print formats in terms of
its structure, content, bias, source's credentials, timeliness, etc.
- Students can use electronic and paper indexes., to locate information
sources and are able to select the appropriate index for their research needs.
GOAL II: Student can identify and use appropriate information
from information sources or information systems.
Competencies Learned:
- Student can determine on their own whether their research demands
recorded or unrecorded information and/or both, can gather information from these sources
and is aware of the implications of using such information. If neither is feasible the
student on their own can change the direction or topic of their search.
