New LACASIS Board Officers Elected

LACASIS conducted its Annual Business Meeting during the June 17th program on Personal Knowledge Management. The new slate of officers who will lead the chapter in the coming year beginning in October are:

Call for LACASIS Board & Advisory Council Positions

The Chair Elect position is still vacant so if you are interested in this vital role, please contact Linda Heichman or Rachael Clemens for more information.

Rachael is still finalizing the Advisory Council for the upcoming year. If you have any interest in volunteering, please review the titles on the LACASIS website and take a look at position descriptions in the Chapter Manual and let Rachael know your interest.

Save the Date for the Annual LACASIS Full-Day Fall Workshop!

Topic: “Search Forward” – focus will be on cutting edge web searching, multimedia retrieval, “recommender” systems and getting scholarly content out to be indexed by search engines.

Location: Bush Conference Facility at Chapman University (Chapman University is located in Old Towne Orange near the 57 and 22 freeways.)

Summer Board Meetings

As you know we hold monthly board meetings (open to all) on the first Saturday morning of the month. However during July and August we will forgo the physical gathering for communication via email. So our next in-person board meeting will be held Saturday, September 10 (Labor Day weekend is the first Saturday) at 9:30 a.m. back at Pannini Café & Coffee in Marina Del Rey.
