Under the supervision of the Education Librarian, the Curriculum Room Student Assistant must be willing to help patrons (including community members as well as CSUSM students, faculty & staff) with general questions about Virginia Hansen Curriculum Room while maintaining a mature and pleasant demeanor.
The student assistant will help patrons find curriculum materials, juvenile books, answer phone calls, and refer detailed reference questions to the Education Librarian.
Assistant will help patrons with online catalog, use of audiovisual equipment, and computers.
Duties also include shelving curriculum materials, shelf reading for the shelves for accuracy, supervising use of equipment in curriculum workroom, general cleaning and decorating of the curriculum area (including workroom), ordering office supplies, and lesson plan archiving.
Student assistant will also perform special projects as assigned by the Education Librarian.
Occasional lifting of objects between 1-30 lbs might be required.
Hours vary to accommodate student assistant's class schedule.
