It's odd to go through life invisible
     While taking up so much space
I am background noise
I am scenery
Except for when I am not
    When you do see me-
    You think you know me
    because of my body.
                     fat
                     stupid
                     waste

You say you know my worth
based on one moment of my past
                     violent
                     felon
                     monster
I stumble - soyou laugh
I struggle - and you smile
I cry - then you rejoice
                             But I am more than just your punch line

                                                               or your paperwork
                                                               or your physical standards
I may not be as good as my greatest accomplishments
    yet l am worth so much more than my mistake
So I don't have to live in your world-
    because inside, I carry my own.
