Am The New Me, 

I am water flowing freely around every obstacle
I am my mother and father and no other.
I am endless space waiting to be filled,
  with change, love, being instilled,
  forgiveness instead of emptiness.

I am daisies blooming in the garden,
   with a heart no longer hardened,
   simple, but alive, willing to thrive.
I am a Spanish love that's full of songs.
I am committed to serve.
I am the support given through it all,
  no longer waiting for the unfortunate fall.
I am who was "only" a girl with no choice,        and was not allowed to have a voice.
I am sopas and frijoles, with cumbias and tamales.
I am many homes, no stability, and alone.
I am cultural familial ties, some false beliefs, and lies.
I am of parents migrating for survival and better opportunity,
  to this land of liberty, of cultures clashing, and old-fashioned
  in full action.
I am an amazing work ethic and resiliency.
I am hurt, pain, and trauma caused.
I am responsible in my ability for accountability.
I am change, being of service, and healing.
