Description

Labyrinth,

In a world so cold
in shattered night
I question
(will I ever see the light?)

Heart so full
and head adorned
A crown of sorrows
was my plight

As blind men see
And lameness walk
Blameless I stand
Solid as a rock

This hard exterior
Because I felt inferior
A hollow shell-
Will I die alone?

Who is she that
Walks in Starlight?
I feel my sorrow take flight

I found in her
What I see in me:
A beautiful smile
hiding pain underneath

In her is my refuge
A shelter from my plight
Someday soon
I can give up this fight

Not in surrender
Not in spite
simply because
I have found respite

The light in her eyes
starts a fire in my soul
Boundless ever after
our sorrows unfold

The Freedom I sought
I thought so unlikely
I found in me whom
I took so lightly

At last it seems
Like a blast
from the past
my heart soars high

My heart sings
like a hummingbird's wings
beating softly in perfect cadence
No longer feeling my acts of penance

How true it feels
to be unmasked
to finally let this
sorrow pass

I feel a sense of peace
serenity, so deep
I have escaped
the Labyrinth of my dreams

So long I fought
to see the light …
Dreammaker,
darkest creator
you are my greatest foe

And yet not so
For I see in you
The same reflections
of this broken soul

Compassion you seek
my heart goes out
to you who live in
the shadows –

One so trapped in self deception
Feeling like a wicked conception
fallen from grace
you gave chase

No longer do you flee
in haste
No more disgrace do I
see in your face

Eyes too full to be displaced
a heart so strong
with hope so pure
to no longer live in fear

This greatest gift
I give to you
To arrest your sorrows
And begin a new

In this final chapter
we are renewed
no longer are we
cleaned in two

You are she and
I am thee
Together we shall have
victory
Triumph over our misery
