Her-Story,

I got a story to tell, I'd rather tell it myself
so ain't no miscommunication,
shit is bad for your health
I got a story to tell, you know I tell it so
well,
should make my life into a movie,
wrote this shit from my cell
Take it back to '94, not too long ago
Up in San Joaquin, 4pm at the hospital
Hot summer day, not the 4th of July
But the day before, God strike me down
if I'm lying
Mama singing Minnie Rip, off the rip, La
La La La
How the fuck you think I got my name,
from my father?
Hell Nah
He was there though, lemme make that
clear doe
Moving forward in the story, cuz I got
some more to tell y'all
2 to 6 moved to Daygo, Southeast,
where I resided
Santa Margarita, 47th, I was riding
Sin City don't sleep where I moved off
next
Drive-by 1st night, make it so complex
Shooting dice in the hood, & a lil
ballerina
Playing tennis was my favorite, like a
Venus & Serena
Slid back home 6th, 7th, & 8th
Middle school Monarch, used to call it
the place
No face, no case with some bad-ass kids
Had a hard-knock life but it is what it is
Steel pan, on my rasta, paying what it cost ya
Brody by my side, hell nah he ain't a foster
Quick trip up to Stockton, in the Honda was a
dream
Got to meet the man himself, Rest in Peace to
Danny Green
Doing what the fuck I said, I got a story to tell
Took a train to Alabama, shit was country as hell
Freshman, 9th grade at Anniston High
Summer came around & I ain't get the chance to
say bye
Pushing back to California, stopped in Texas first
Used to think its hot in Vegas, Arizona was worse
10th grade, now I'm in ASB
Call me Miss President, when you address me,
I'm styling
Got the drip too, fashion ain't the issue
$20 in my wallet looking better than your fit do
Sweet 16 & I lost my V
Fucked around & got pregnant, then my ma lost
me
Shit was ghetto for a minute locked up in juvie
But I hella fought the case, shit ain't what it
seemed
Fresh out, new start but ain't no baby
Gotta figure how to cope, had to smoke my
weed
Grew up real fast, but it ain't scared me
Dropped out, then graduated with my first baby

I got a story to tell, I’d rather tell it myself
so ain’t no miscommunication,
shit is bad for your health

I got a story to tell,
you know I tell it so well,
should make my life into a movie,
wrote this shit from my cell
