Big news from the library world—Cali, the official mascot of the California State University InterLibrary Loan system, is on her grand tour! Her third stop? Right here at Cal State San Marcos!
Cali’s adventure celebrates the journey books take as they travel between all 23 CSU campuses using our free courier system. Before visiting us, she stopped at Chico State and Sonoma State—two of our many library partners in the CSU system.
Beginning in fall 2025, Kellogg Library’s operating hours will be adjusted to the following schedule:

Are you teaching a class that doesn't require students to purchase any textbooks or course materials?
If so, please report your Zero Cost Course Materials (ZCCM) courses to the CALM Team. You can submit your courses by emailing calm@csusm.edu or using the ZCCM Reporting Form.
What is considered ZCCM?
The Reading Room is located in KEL 5400 and provides a quiet study space for all students during library hours. This space can also be used as a venue to host events.

The CSUSM University Library has received the 2025 Library Excellence in Access and Diversity (LEAD) Award from Insight Into Diversity magazine. The Award honors academic libraries’ programs and initiatives that support inclusive excellence and belonging on their campus. The CSUSM Library was honored for the second year in a row and will be featured, along with 33 other recipients, in the March 2025 issue of Insight Into Diversity magazine.
